Our next game, Laundry Jam, is on its way

A third app is joining Warry and PurrBuddy: Laundry Jam, a laundry-themed puzzle game. It is in testing now, and when it ships it will be on the App Store and Google Play. This post covers how it plays, what keeps it free and what it does with your data.

Three Laundry Jam screens: Bonus Wash, a level and Fold It

How it plays

At the top of the screen, coloured laundry pours down two chutes into a spinning bowl; below, carts marked with arrows wait their turn. Tap a cart whose way is clear, in the direction of its arrow, all the way to the edge, and it drives to the dock and collects laundry of its own colour from the bowl. A full cart goes off to be washed, and its spot is free again straight away.

There is no timer and no move limit. Space on the dock is limited: when every open spot except the yellow priority one is taken and none of the docked carts can take anything from the bowl, the level is lost. Locked spots can be opened with coins or, when one is offered, an optional video, and they stay open until the level ends or restarts. When the last piece of laundry is gone, into a cart or washed away by foam, the level is clear.

Helpers, bonus rounds, laundromats

There are four boosters. Collector makes the next cart you send gather its colour from everywhere, the bowl and the chutes alike. Shuffle re-deals the colours and arrows of the waiting carts, and the level stays solvable. Priority flies the cart you pick, even a blocked one, to the yellow priority spot. Detergent is a Foam Blast: it washes away the next ten pieces and cuts what the carts of those colours still need by the same amount. Sending carts whose colour is among the next few pieces in line, one quickly after another, fills the detergent bottle, and a full bottle gives the same blast for free.

From level 3, every few levels a won level is followed by a bonus round: in Bonus Wash you scrub the stains off a garment, and in Fold It you fold as much laundry as you can in 15 seconds. Both pay coins, and Skip passes on them.

Every ten levels you move to a new laundromat: Neighborhood Laundromat, Hotel Laundry, Beach Laundromat and Space Station Laundry, after which the same four come back in new colours. The levels do not run out. If you can’t wait, you can unlock a laundromat’s look early with coins; that changes only the look, and the levels and their difficulty stay the same.

What keeps it free

Laundry Jam is free and shows ads from Google AdMob; there are no banners. From level 8, a full-screen ad may occasionally appear when you tap Next after a win, or when you tap Try again after getting stuck on the same level twice in a row. Reward videos are always optional: you choose whether to watch one for an extra spot, a booster, double coins or another chance when you are stuck.

The No Ads purchase removes the full-screen ads for good, and the reward videos stay optional. Coin packs, bundles, detergent and a starter pack are there too, as optional in-app purchases.

Your data

There is no account; your progress is stored only on your device. We don’t collect your name, e-mail or precise location. On iPhone the game shows a short explanation before the first ad and then asks Apple’s tracking question; your advertising identifier is used only if you allow it. If you are signed in to Game Center, the highest level you have completed goes to its leaderboard. Everything else is in the privacy policy.

When and where

We are not giving a release date yet; the game is in testing. The iPhone version needs iOS 15 or later and runs on iPad in iPhone mode, and an Android version is on its way. The day it ships, the store links go into this post and onto the Laundry Jam page. Until then, questions go to the support page.
