Getting started

Which devices does Warry run on, and what does it cost?

Warry runs on iPhone and iPad, from the App Store. It is free: no paid tier, no subscription, no one-off unlock, and no feature held back behind a purchase. A small banner ad covers the cost of keeping it on the store.

How do I add my first item?

Tap the blue + button in the middle of the tab bar. Give the item a name, then fill in as much or as little as you need: brand, model, serial number, category, location, purchase date, warranty end date, price and currency, and a free-text note. Tap Save and it appears in My Items.

The warranty end date is the field that makes the rest of the app useful — it is what the dashboard and the Warranties tab work from.

Can I edit or delete an item after saving it?

Yes. Open My Items and tap the item: the same form reopens with everything you entered. Change any field and tap Update. The red Delete button at the bottom of that screen removes the item and its attached images for good, so it asks you to confirm first. There is no undo.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

Neither. There is no sign-up, no login and no password, and the app has no idea who you are. Everything is stored on the device, so Warry works with airplane mode on. The only part that wants a connection is the banner ad — without one it simply doesn’t load, and nothing else changes.

How do I change the language or the currency?

Warry speaks English, Türkçe, Español and Deutsch; pick the one you want in Settings and the whole app switches. Currency works per item: when you enter a price you choose between TRY, USD, EUR and GBP, so something bought abroad can stay in the currency you actually paid.

Items, documents and warranties

How do I attach a receipt or a warranty card?

Every item takes one main product photo plus as many supporting documents as you need — receipts, invoices, warranty cards. They are all kept as images, taken with the camera or picked from your photo library.

iOS asks for camera and photo library permission the first time you use each. Warry only reads the photos you pick; it does not browse your library. Everything it keeps lives inside the app on your device.

Why can I only have five locations?

Warry keeps a maximum of five: home, office, summer house, other, and any you create yourself. It is a deliberate limit — a filter list that runs to twenty entries stops being a filter.

If five isn’t enough, the note field is a good place for the precise spot: “garage, second shelf”. It stays with the item without turning the location list into a second inventory.

What does “expiring soon” mean?

It means a warranty that ends within the next 30 days. The dashboard counts them for you, so opening the app is enough to see whether anything needs attention this month.

Why doesn’t Warry send me a reminder notification?

Because it doesn’t send push notifications at all. That is not an oversight we are about to fix quietly — the app ships without them, and it will never appear on your lock screen.

Instead, the dashboard flags warranties expiring in the next 30 days every time you open it. If a particular warranty is worth real money, add a calendar reminder a week before the end date.

What is the dashboard actually showing me?

Three things: the total value of everything you have entered, how many warranties end within the next 30 days, and a donut chart of how your items split across categories. It is a one-screen answer to “is anything about to run out, and roughly what do I own?”.

Where do I find warranties that have already expired?

In the Warranties tab. It lists your records by state — active, expiring and expired — so an old receipt is still there when a shop asks for proof of purchase years later, even though the cover has run out.

Data, privacy and troubleshooting

Does any of my data reach OZJAM?

No. Items, photos, documents, prices and notes are written to a local database on your device and stay there. OZJAM runs no server that receives app data. That also means we cannot read, export, restore or delete your list on request; there is nothing on our side to act on.

The one third party involved is Google, through the AdMob banner. The privacy policy sets out exactly what that covers.

Does Warry sync between my iPhone and my iPad?

No. There is no account and no cloud, so there is nothing to sync through. Each device keeps its own separate list, and adding an item on one will not make it appear on the other.

That is the trade we made: no sync, in exchange for no server, no sign-up and nothing of yours sitting on someone else’s computer.

How do I back up or export my data?

Honest answer: you can’t, not from inside Warry. There is no export button today and no backup service on our side, so the copy on your device is the only copy.

Two habits make that safe: keep the original photo of each receipt in your iPhone’s photo library as well as in Warry, and put the dates that really matter into your calendar. If an export would change how you use the app, tell us.

How do I delete everything?

Delete the items you no longer want inside the app, or delete Warry from your device — removing the app removes its database with it, immediately and permanently. Nothing waits in a bin on a server, because there is no server.

If the list matters to you, save your receipt photos elsewhere first; once the app is gone, nothing can bring it back.

Why is there an advertisement?

Warry shows one Google AdMob banner. It is the only third-party SDK in the app and the reason the app can be free without a subscription, without a paid tier and without selling anything about you.

Google may process device identifiers, coarse location derived from your IP address and ad-interaction data under its own advertising policy. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency prompt decides whether the advertising identifier can be used, and declining it does not disable anything in Warry. The full picture is in the privacy policy.

Something is broken — how do I report it?

E-mail us and include four things: your iOS version (Settings › General › About), your device model, the language Warry is set to, and the steps that led to the problem. A screenshot helps more than a description.

Because nothing is logged on our side, your description is genuinely the only evidence we have. If the app crashes, say whether it happens every time or only once.

I have an idea for a feature.

Send it. Describe what you were trying to do rather than which button you want — the problem behind a request is usually more useful than the request. Everything gets read, ideas that fit the shape of the app get built, and we won’t promise a date we can’t keep.

Still stuck?

Write to us. There is no ticket system and no bot in the middle — the message lands in the inbox next to where the app is built.

For a bug, tell us your iOS version, your device model and the steps that led to it. That one paragraph usually turns three e-mails into one.
